My research centres human wellbeing and social values in fisheries and marine restoration because management effectiveness depends on understanding what communities actually care about and addressing tensions between groups. With an interdisciplinary background in marine ecology, resource management, and qualitative social sciences, I work with small-scale fisheries, coastal communities, and Aboriginal groups to identify where environmental and community goals can align. I’m currently investigating fishing satisfaction in recreational fisheries, governance of coral restoration in the Philippines, and socioeconomic benefits of urban marine restoration.
